Webster Thomas Ends Cadets Run in
AA1 Quarterfinals

Leads Cadets with 16 points!

Senior Mike Colavecchia led the #5 Cadets with a season
high 16 points on Saturday, February 26, when the Hilton
traveled to host #4 Webster Thomas for the AA1
Quarterfinals. The Cadets offense was unable to
gain momentum in the first three quarters scoring 9
points in each quarter. Webster Thomas, on the
other hand, led 30-18 at the half and extended their
lead to 62-27 going into the fourth. The Cadets
came back in the fourth quarter, scoring 28 points
(outscoring Thomas by 15 points). The Cadets end
the 2010-2011 Season 10-9.

Season 10-8!
Conte Leads Cadets Over
Spartans 52-35!
Junior Sean Conte led the
Cadets with 13 points and 6 rebounds, as the Cadets
finished with a win 52-35 win over Greece Olympia's
Spartans. Nick Prince added 12 points and Andy
Miller had 10 points in the win. Olympia's Carl
Williams had 12 points for the Spartans (2-16).
The Cadets finish the regular season 10-8 and are seeded
5th in AA1 Sectionals. Their first game is
Saturday, February 26, 2011 against #4 Webster Thomas.
Tip off is 7:00 pm at Webster Thomas.
The Hilton JVs Finish
as Division 2 Co-Champions
The Hilton Cadet JV Boys Basketball team finished the
season with a 15-3 record by defeating Greece Olympia
66 - 50. The victory gave the JV Cadets a share of the
Monroe County Division 2 title. This is the second year
in a row with at least a share of the Monroe County
Division 2 title. The JV team also currently holds a 20
home game winning streak.
Cadets now 9-8 ... Seeded #5
with one week to go!
Cadets Win Twice On the
Road
On Saturday, February 13,
the Cadets traveled to Oswego, New York to take on
Section 3's Oswego Buccaneers. Led by Nick Prince
with 17 points (including four 3-pointers in the second
half), the Cadets overcame a 15-19 deficit at the half,
outscoring the Buccaneers 16-12 points in both the third
and fourth quarters. Nick Ross had 9 points and
Ryan Hrankowski and Andy Miller each added 8 points for
the Cadets. (Game

On Tuesday, February 8, the Varsity Cadets defeated the
Spencerport Rangers on the road, 63-52. The Cadets
and Rangers were tied after the first quarter, but began
to increase their lead, going into the half 35-27.
The Cadets held onto their lead, outscoring the Rangers
28-25 in the second half.
Ryan Hrankowski scored 11 points,
Nick Prince had 10 points and Nick Ross added 9 points
for the Cadets; Spencerport was led by Joe
Maier who scored 19 points and had 8 rebounds.

Olympia on Wednesday, February 16. JV begins at
6:15 and Varsity at 7:45.

2011
Cadets FIND A WAY over
Churchville-Chili
Six senior players and nine
senior cheerleaders celebrated their last regular season
home game as the Cadets outscored visiting
Churchville-Chili, 59-57 on February 4, 2011. The
Cadets overcame a 2-point deficit in the first quarter
by outscoring the Saint 17-10 in the second quarter,
leading 26-21 at the half. Cadet senior, Jake Carr
scored 10 points (leading team scorer) in the second
half, including two 3-pointers. Saints closed the gap,
and at the end of the third quarter, the Cadets led by a
single point (36-35). But the Cadets, bounced
back, outscoring the Saints 23-12 in the final quarter
to secure the win. Junior Andy Miller added 10
points and senior Ryan Hrankowski added 9 points for the
Cadets. Curchville-Chili's
Marcus Blythers had a
triple-double, scoring 22 points with 17 rebounds and 12
blocked shots. The Cadets are now 7-8 with three

The Hilton JV team (13-2) defeated Curchville-Chili's JV
team, 58-34 in the early game at Hilton High School.
Varsity and JV Teams travel to Spencerport on
Tuesday, February 8 and Oswego on Saturday,
February 12.

Cadets Find A Way! 13-0
Roll on to 2nd Perfect Season!
Coach Kevin Whelehan and the Freshman Boys Basketball
completed their 2010-2011 season with a 76-44 win on the
road over the Gates Chili Spartans on February 2.
The Freshman Cadets capped off their second undefeated
season averaging 66 points per game - against opposing
teams averaging 37 points per game. Their closest
margin of victory was 12 points in their December 17
contest in Irondequoit; their greatest margin of victory
was 49 points against Brockport on December 10, 2010.
The team outscored their opposition 860-480!

Cadets
Fall to Greece Athena Trojans
(2.1.11) Trying to avenge a
4-point loss to Athena in early January, the Cadets
traveled to Greece Athena on February 1. Athena
showed up early, outscoring the Cadets 22-16 in the
first quarter. The Cadets, held the Trojans to 7
points in the second quarter and trailed by 5 at the
half. The third and fourth quarters saw equal
action by both teams - the Cadets scoring 24 points in
the second half and the Trojans 26. In the end,
the Cadets were unable to overcome Trojans early lead,
losing 49-55. Junior Andy Miller led with 12 points;
senior Jake Carr had 10 points, including three
3-pointers! Athena's John Wallace led the Trojans
with 19 points, Joe Woolston added 17 points and DJ
Atterberry had 4 points and 8 assists for Athena (10-4).
The Cadets are now 6-8 with four regular season games
left on the schedule.

Cadets Basketball Cares
& Wins!
(1.29.11)
On January 28,
2011, the Cadets sponsored Hilton Boys Basketball Cares,
offering free admission to the Varsity/JV games against
Brockport, to benefit the Hilton Food Shelf. The
Varsity Boys, led by Nick Prince with 14 points and Andy
Miller with 12 points rose to the challenge as the
Cadets defeated the Brockport Blue Devils 54-48. Tied
after the first quarter, the Cadets were able to
outscore the Blue Devils to take a 3 point lead at the
half. The Blue Devils matched the Cadets
point-for-point in the third quarter, but the Cadets
extended their lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring
Brockport 17-14. The Cadets are now 6-7, with five
games remaining in the regular season. Brockport's
Mike Warboys led the team with 17 points.
Brockport fell to 1-12.

Prince Leads Cadets with 17 in Loss to Gates-Chili
(1.23.11)
Sophomore Nick Prince had 17 points in the Cadets January 21 loss to
a very consistent Gates Chili (9-3) team. Andy Miller and Nick
Ross each added 8 points for the Cadets; Ryan Hrankowski had 7
points. Gates Chili put up 14 points in each quarter in the
win, as the Cadets battled in the first and third quarters.
G-C's Marcus McGill scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half.

Hilton JVs On Top MC D-2 at 11-1!
The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team increased their record to
11-1 with a victory over visiting Gates-Chili Spartans by a score of
64-50. The team was led by Tyler Farrell who scored 25 points. The
Cadets remain in first place in Monroe County Division 2 with
highest point total in all of the Monroe County League. They next
play at home on Friday January 28th against the Brockport Blue
Devils at 6:15.
Hrankowski leads Cadets over Spartans with 17!
(1.19.11)
Senior Ryan Hrankowski and Sophomore Davonte Bailey combined for 22
points in the second half of the Cadets 65-57 win over Greece
Olympia. Hrankowski scored 12 of his 17 points and Bailey
scored all of his 10 points as the Cadets outscored the Spartans
33-28 in the second half. Sophomores Andy Miller and Nick
Prince added 15 and 11 points respectively. Hrankowski had 8
rebounds for the Cadets. The Cadets' defense held Olympia to 8
points in the third quarter, giving the Cadets a 17-point lead going
into the final quarter. Olympia tried to overcome the deficit,
outscoring the Cadets 20-18 in the fourth quarter. Nate Smith
(17 points) and Billy Slocum (14 points) led the Spartans (1-9) in

Hilton JVs Bounce Back!
After suffering the first loss for the JV team in nearly two years
against Greece Arcadia by a score of 48-47, the Hilton Cadets JV
Boys Basketball Team defeated Greece Olympia by a score of 63-31.
The team was led by a balanced attack and good team defense. They
next play against Gates-Chili on Friday January 21 at 6:15. The JV
Cadets are still on top of Monroe County Division II.
Miller leads Cadets in Loss to Titans 76-61
(1.14.11)
Sophomore Andy Miller led the Varsity Cadets with 17 points but the
Cadets were outscored by the Greece Arcadia Titans 76-61 on Friday,
January 14. Sophomore forward, Nick Prince scored 13 points for the Cadets (4-6)
and Nick Ross added 8. Arcadia was led by Robert Echols with
22 points and Cody Paige and Steven Klimek each had 16 points.
The Titans held an early 12 point advantage following the first
quarter and never trailed, despite being outscored by the Cadets in
the second and third quarters. The Titans finished strong
outscoring the Cadets 26-16 in fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Echols, Paige and Klimek had 54 of the Titans 76 points. (Game

JV Boys Remain on Top Monroe
County Division 2 The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team are on top of the Monroe
County Division 2 standings with their 9-1 record despite a 47-48
loss to Greece Athena.
Cadets Team Up to Topple Rangers 70-31!
(1.11.11)
The Varsity Cadets outscored the Spencerport Rangers 37-19 in the
first half, and held the Rangers to just 4 points in the third
quarter and 8 in the fourth quarter in their 70-31 win on Tuesday,
January 11. Sophomore guard, Nick Ross scored 10 of his 12
points in the first half and also had five assists for the Cadets
(4-5). Nick Prince had 13 points for the Cadets (4-5) and Ryan
Hrankowski added nine points and six assists.
Spencerport's Erin Harris and Hank Wedow each had 8 points for the
Rangers. Spencerport is now 5-5. (Game

JV Boys Keep on Rolling!
The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team defeated the Spencerport
Rangers by a
score of 46-35. The team was led by Ryan Fowler's 12 points. They
now have a
record of 9 - 0 and play next on Friday night, January 14, 2011 at
Greece Arcadia.
Cadets Late Efforts Not Enough
(1.9.11) Hilton's
Andy Miller led the Cadets with 15 points in Friday, January 7 loss
to Churchville-Chili. The Cadets were outscored in the first three
quarters, but came on strong in the fourth quarter, scoring 25
points, but their efforts were not enough, as they lost to the
Saints 64-50. Churchville-Chili's Scott Shamp scored 20 points,
including 10 of 11 from the free-throw line, for the Saints (4-5),
who went 29 of 35 from the line as a team. The Saints hit 17 of 22
in the fourth quarter from the line. (Game

(1.6.11) Trailing 41-30 at the half,
the Cadets took a 58-57 lead with 1:32 left in regulation play.
Athena's
Joe Woolston made 1 of 2 free throws with 38 seconds
left to send the game into overtime for the Tojans.
Nick Ross, Nick Prince and Ryan Hrankowski each had 13 points and
Andy Miller added 12 points for the Cadets; Senior guard Jake Carr
added 6 points and 6 asists for Hilton (3-4). John Wallace had
22 points and Deion Hamilton scored 17 for Greece Athena (5-2).

JV Cadets Now 8-0! Ranked #1 in Monroe County Standings
On Friday, January 7, the Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team
defeated Churchville-Chili 55-28 to put their record at 8-0. They
were led by great team defense.
Earlier in the week, the
team defeated Greece Athena 62-53 (Wednesday, January 5) to take the
lead in the Monroe County Division 2 standings. The team was led by
DG Logory and Tyler Farrell.

The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team Wins the
JV Hall of Fame Basketball Tournament
(12.30.10) The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team defeated the Greece Arcadia
Titans in the first round by a score of 53 - 31. They went on to defeat
the East Irondequoit Lancers in the finals by a score of 63 - 34. The
team was led by all-tournament selections Tyler Farrell and Jack Anten
and tournament MVP DJ Logory. They next play January 5th at 5:45 at home
versus Greece Athena.
Cadets Fall to Marshall 39-57
(12.22.10) Ryan Hrankowski led
the Cadets with 13 points in the
Cadets' home opener. The Jurists outscored the Cadets 17-10 in the
first quarter, but the Cadets fought back, holding Marshall to only
7 points in the second quarter. The Jurists switched to a
1-3-1 zone in the second half; outscoring the Cadets 33-13.
Tim Lewis led Marshall with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. The
Cadets are now 2-2 heading into the Hilton Holiday Hall of Fame
Tournament - December 28-29. (Game

JV Boys Continue to Roll
The Hilton Cadet JV Boys Basketball Team extended their perfect
record to 4 - 0 with a 56 - 35 victory over Marshall. The team
played well with 12 different players scoring. Next up for the boys
is the Hilton Hall of Fame tournament on December 28th at 3:00pm
against division opponent Greece Arcadia.
Hrankowski's Hits '3' to Put Cadets Ahead-
Hilton Defeats Brockport 52-49
(12.17.10) Senior Ryan Hrankowski hit a
three-point shot with just under a minute remaining in the game to
put the Hilton ahead 49-46. Sophomore Nick Prince hit two free
throws with 6 seconds left in the game to seal the Cadet's 2nd
victory. Prince led Hilton with 17 points and Hrankowski had

Cadets Fall to Gates Chili 38-51
(12.15.10) Trailing by ten at the half,
the Cadets outscored Gates Chili 17-11 to close the scoring gap
29-33. But Gates Chili, led by
Terrence Ealy (14 points/8 rebounds) and Marcus
McGill (12 points/8 rebounds), came back in the fourth quarter,
outscoring the Cadets 18-9 to seal the win. Nick Prince led
the Cadets with 10 points; Andy Miller and Jake Carr each added 7
points. Both teams are now 1-1.

The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team won their first game of
the year by defeating Canandaigua Friday night by a score of 49-40.
The JVs were led by Tyler Farrell's 17 points.

Ryan was named Player of the week
Division II, December 5, 2010 for scoring 14 points in a road win
against Canandaigua.

Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team Goes Undefeated
(February 15, 2010)
The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball
team defeated Greece Olympia 57-51 to win Monroe County Division 2 and
go undefeated with an 18 - 0 record. The team finished the season as the
top team, according to points and is the only undefeated team in all
of Monroe County Section V. Congratulations on a great season!

VARSITY CADETS FINISH SEASON 9-11 ... WILSON
ADVANCES IN AAA
(February 27, 2010)
Despite being down 14 points at the end
of the third period to the top-seeded Wilson Wildcats, the Varsity
Cadets weren't going to bow out easily. The #8 Cadets battled back in
the fourth quarter, defensively holding Wilson to only 8 points, as the
offense scored 16 points to bring the Cadets to within 3. The
Wilson Wildcats were able to hold on, ending the Cadets Sectional hopes,
54-51. Ryan Hrankowski led the Cadets (9-11) with 17 points and
Senior Colin Peterson added 12 points. Ty'shaun Murrell had 12 points
for Wilson and grabbed 8 rebounds and 6 steals for the Wildcats (17-2);
Cameron Bailey and Devonn Gavin led Wilson scorers with 13 points each.

(March 6, 2010):
On March 3, #1 Wilson was defeated by #4
Fairport and #2 Rush Henrietta defeated #6 Gates-Chili in the AAA
Semi-Final rounds. Rush-Henrietta went on to defeat Fairport 75-49
in the Section V AAA Finals at the BlueCross Arena on March 6.

VARSITY CADETS SETTLE THE SCORE WITH PATRIOTS!
ADVANCE IN AAA SECTIONALS!
(February 24, 2010)
The Varsity Cadets (9-10) opened the
season with a 54-68 loss to the Penfield Patriots on December 8.
In Round 1 of the AAA Sectionals, the #8 Cadets hosted #9 Penfield, and
the Cadets brought their "A" game, defeating the Patriots 50-42.
The Cadets jumped to an early first quarter lead, outscoring the
Patriots 12-6. But the Patriots were able to pull ahead in the
second quarter, with a 22-20 half-time lead. The Cadets shaved the
Patriot's lead to one at the end of the third quarter. The Cadets
were able to outscore the Patriots 20-11, going 13 of 17 from the foul
line, in the fourth quarter.
Junior Colton Connor scored 10 of his 12
points in the final quarter. Senior Colin Peterson led the Cadets
with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Birds Eye Player of the Week
(December 2 - December 8, 2008)
Hilton's 6-foot-4
forward/center, scored 10 points in a win over Brockport, 13 points in a
win
over Spencerport and 20 points, along with nine rebounds and five
blocked shots in a win
over Brighton in the championship game of the Spencerport Coaches Versus
Cancer Tournament.
He was named Tournament MVP.
