SENIOR APPRECIATION NIGHT
The Varsity Boys (8-9) suffered a last second overtime defeat to Canandaigua (7-10) on February 15. With the Cadets holding a 7-point lead, Canandaigua rallied in the last four minutes of regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime. With Hilton leading 54-53 and 1.6 seconds left in overtime, Canandaigua's Matt Scharr took an inbounds pass in for a layup to score the winning basket for Canandaigua. Colin Peterson led the Cadets with 14 points. Ryan Hrankowski and Duell Smith each had 11 points for the Cadets. [Game Recap]

Team won their 17th game in a row by defeating Canandaigua Academy
Greece Arcadia handed the Varsity Cadets (8-8, 8-5) their first loss since January 22 when the Cadets traveled to Arcadia on February 12. Seniors Colby Morabito (20 points) and Colin Peterson (19 points) led the Cadets (11-6, 9-4) with 39 combined points. The Cadets and Titans went basket for basket in the first quarter, but the Titans outscored the Cadets 23-8 in the second. In the third and fourth quarters, the Cadets mounted a rally, cutting the Titans lead to two with a minute left in the game. Arcadia's Steve Klimek made 5-of-6 free throws in the last minute to seal the Titans' victory. Rob Echols led the Titans with 27 points and 7 rebounds. [Game Recap]

CADETS UNDEFEATED WITH 2 GAMES TO GO! Led by Davonte Bailey's 16 points, the Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team defeated Greece Arcadia 52-38. The team's record is now 16 - 0 and they are on top of Monroe County Division 2.
Colby Morabito had 21 points when the Cadet's hosted Spencerport on February 10. Ryan Hrankowski added 10 points and Duell Smith and Colin Peterson each had 9 points in the Cadet's victory. The Cadets (8-7) have won their last 4 games. Jerame Owens scored 18 points for Spencerport (5-11). Hilton's freshman guard Nick Prince scored a career-high 14 points for the Cadets (7-7) and Colin Peterson scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half. Colby Morabito continued his dominance on the court, scoring 12 of his 13 points in the second half for Hilton. Morabito was named Birdseye Player of the Week (Monroe County II) earlier in the week (Week 9, 1/26 through 2/1/2010). Churchville (6-9) was led by Marcus Blythers with 9 points. The Cadet's Junior Varsity squad continues to dominate the Monroe County JV Boys Division II standing with wins over Brockport 48-40 on January 29, Greece Athena on February 3 (57-50), and Churchville-Chili on February 5, 2020 (55-22). MORABITO, SMITH AND PETERSON LEAD CADETS
OVER 6th RANKED GREECE ATHENA! Colby Morabito (13 points, 10 assists) and Duell Smith (12 points, 10 assists) each had double-doubles as the Cadets (6-7) defeated the Greece Athena Trojans (10-3) (previously ranked 6th in the Democrat and Chronicle Large School coaches' poll). Colin Peterson added 19 points and went 5-fo-6 from the free thrown line. The Cadets' victory follows a 69-58 loss to the Trojans in January. The Cadets held the lead from the tip off, outscoring the Trojans 18-7 in the first quarter and holding a 29-22 lead at the half. Athena, led by John Wallace with 16 points, cut the deficit to 47-44 with 2½ minutes left in the game, but Morabito sunk a 3-pointer to top off the upset. [Game Recap]
VARSITY Cadets TURN UP THE HEAT DEFEAT BROCKPORT 60-57 The Brockport Blue Devils took an early lead in the game, outscoring the Cadets 32-20 in the first half. But the Varsity Cadets weren't ready to give up. Going into the fourth quarter, the Cadets, led by Colby Morabito, had shaved the Blue Devil's lead to only 4 points. The Cadets went 13-for-15 from the line in the fourth quarter and finally took the lead with just 3 minutes to go in the game. In his first game back from a wrist injury, Colby Morabito had 18 points, 5 assists. Duell Smith and Nick Prince added 12 points each in the Cadets' victory. Cadets fall to G-C Spartans 36-43
JV CADETS GO 11-0 WITH WIN OVER GATES-CHILI Going into the half with a 12-point lead, the Hilton Cadets Varsity offense could not out-maneuver the Gates Chili Spartan's pressure defense in the 2nd half. The Cadets' leading scorer, Colin Peterson scored 18 points in the loss. Trailing 24-12 at the half, the Spartan's offense, led by Raymond Harris with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals (all in the 2nd half), was able to change the momentum of the game, outscoring the Cadets 31-12. The Cadets are now 4-8; the Spartans are 7-5. [Game Recap] The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team defeated Gates-Chili in a very physical and competitive basketball game by the score of 48 - 37. The JV Cadets were led offensively by Nick Ross's 17 points and defensively by Davonte Bailey along with great team defense. The team remains on top of the Monroe County JV Boys Division II Basketball standings.
Senior Colin Peterson led the Cadets' Varsity Boys Basketball with 12 points in the Cadet's 44-51 loss to Greece Olympia on January 20. Nick Prince and Duell Smith each added 8 points for the Cadets and Ryan Hrankowski had 7 points. Olympia's Cody Sarkis scored 8 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Spartans (6-5). [Game Recap] The Cadet JV's improved their record to 10 – 0 to remain on top of Monroe County Boys Basketball by defeating Greece Olympia 55 – 29. The victory was a total team effort.
The Cadets' Varsity Boys Basketball team improved their record to 4-5 with a 51-33 victory over the Spencerport Rangers on the road on January 12. Junior Guard, Ryan Hrankowski led the Cadets with 16 points and Senior, Colby Morabito had 14 points. Spencerport's Taylor DiGuardi had 11 points in the Rangers' loss. Colby Morabito led the Cadets with 19 points; Colin Peterson and Duell Smith added 15 and 11 points, respectively. CADETS BATTLE GREECE ATHENA TROJANS Greece Athena, led by Casey Sheehan with 30 points/12 rebounds, shut down the Cadets' offense in the first half, taking an 11 point lead into the locker room at halftime. The Cadets, led by Seniors Colin Peterson with 19 points and Colby Morabito (15 points), battled the Trojans basket for basket in the second half, unable to overcome Athena's lead. Peterson scored 3 from the 3-point range. Final Score: Athena 69 - Hilton 58. [Game Recap] The Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball Team extended their record to 7 - 0 by defeating Greece Athena 56 - 49. The Cadets were led by point guard Nick Ross's 21 points. The JV Boys are currently in first place in Monroe County Division 2. The Boys Varsity and JV Basketball Teams travel to Churchville-Chili on 1/8.

Victor's Tyler Brooks was 7-7 from the line in the fourth quarter and Brad Ford grabbed seven rebounds for the Blue Devils (5-2). Hilton is 2-4. Arcadia went on to defeat Eastridge 65-42 to take 3rd place in the tournament. Arcadia's Rob Echols and Peter Clark each added 11 points for the Titans (4-3). JV CADETS 6-0 AFTER TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP WIN! Hilton Cadets JV Boys Basketball team won the 2009 Hall of Fame Basketball Tournament by defeating Greece Arcadia in the first round 51-35 and then Eastridge in the finals by a score of 38-36. Nick Ross, Davonte Bailey and Andrew Miller made the All Tournament Team with Andrew Miller voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. The JV team now has a record of 6-0. They play next on Tuesday January 5 against division opponent, Greece Athena.
Colby Morabito had 15 points and six assists for Hilton (2-3) against Greece Arcadia in Round 1 of the Hilton Hall of Fame Tournament. Colby hit three 3-Pointers and went 10 of 12 shots from the foul line in the fourth quarter. Colin Peterson had 15 points and Duell Smith added 12 points in the Cadets victory. Robert Echols scored 20 for Greece Arcadia (3-2). The Cadets will face Victor Blue Devils in the tournament championship, Wednesday, December 30 @ 7:00 pm at HHS. Victor advanced to the championship round with a 79-31 win over Eastridge. Victor's Phil Valenti scored 18 of his 20 points in the first quarter to lead the Blue Devils (4-2). CADETS WIN AT HOME AGAINST BROCKPORT 56-35! On their home court, the Cadets stole the show against the Brockport Blue Devils, 56-35. Senior Colin Peterson scored 20 points for Hilton. Freshman Nick Prince added 12 points and Colby Moabito had eight assists for the Cadets (1-3) and Brockport is 0-4. [RECAP]
